ABOUT US
We started as customers.
We’re Claudia and Matheus, the founders of House of Atra in Sydney. We started with the same frustration: finding well-made gothic pieces in Australia often meant searching overseas, paying separate shipping costs and waiting weeks for orders to arrive.
We want to make that search easier. Our aim is to bring together original designs and carefully selected work from independent makers, with attention to materials, construction and the people behind each piece.

Matheus
Behind the House’s original pieces is Matheus. His work begins with a shape, a detail, something that stays with him. What follows becomes part of the House’s own language.
OUR VISION
Good gothic design, closer to home.
We want House of Atra to become a trusted place in Australia for well-made gothic pieces. That means choosing carefully, being clear about materials and how things are made, and giving independent makers credit for their work.
We care about individual style and making people feel welcome, whether they’ve worn black for decades or are just finding what they like.
